Chairman Amina Kawa-Aruna from North Carolina DRC Chapter Writes SLPPNA

Dear SLPP Family,

It gives me great pleasure to report once again that the terrific DRC Delegation returned safely home following the successful Convention in Washington, DC Metro Chapter last weekend. Thank you, team DRC for your dedication and loyalty!

Chairman Amina Kawa-Aruna

Thank be to God for safe travels for all of the SLPPNA family who attended the Convention from near and far.

Let me take this opportunity to thank our hosts, the Washington DC Metro Chapter, for the superb hospitality and care shown to us. You have set a high bar in the region for organizing a Convention under serious time, financial and other constraints. Thank you so much!

I would also like to take a moment to publicly recognize all Chapters, their Delegates, and members for their sacrifice in attending the Convention at this challenging time and on short notice. You came out in full force to fulfill your constitutional obligations and connect with your fellow SLPPNA members. This clearly demonstrates your loyalty and dedication to SLPPNA and the Party.

I must also thank the excellent Electoral Commissioners, who conducted the elections flawlessly, given the difficult time constraints. Thank you DIEMOC for your selfless service and sacrifice.

I now turn to my congratulations.

First, let me extend my hearty congratulations to the new Regional Executive and wish each of you the best of luck in your individual positions and success as a team! These are both exciting and challenging times, with the important 2023 elections on the horizon. But remember, we the members, and the Chapter Heads are here to support you in your work. So please do not hesitate to call us at any time.

Well, I must save the best for last! Madam Lulu Luseni Agba, what an achievement! Congratulations on a superb first-time run against an incumbent. Not a small feat at all with over 150 votes to vie for!

Your message, theme, and well-run campaign attracted serious attention not only in SLPPNA but across the globe. And clearly, you won over voters in what became, unfortunately, a significantly shortened campaign period. But just as importantly, you put the Women’s Wing in the spotlight, and I am certain positive dividends will come out of this.

My dear sister, you are not done yet. This is just the beginning. Keep the conversations alive. You are destined for the stars! Very well done, my sister!

Let me now conclude by thanking all for the wonderful birthday messages I have received on this special day. Thank you for all your love. As was clearly evident this past weekend, we are truly one family.

I look forward to seeing you all again soon, but everyone please continue to stay safe and in good health and good spirits!
