According to the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abubakarr Karim, the equipment, which is mostly power tillers, is designed to support small grower farmers, specifically women, to increase their production and yield, which he said is an important component of the agricultural transformation program of the government.

Speaking at the event, VP Juldeh Jalloh described the event as part of the human capital development agenda of President Julius Maada Bio, which essentially hinges on education, health, and food production.
