First Lady Appreciates South and East Women

Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio, has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the women of eastern and southern Sierra Leone for their continued support towards her husband and the agenda and activities the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

It was done on Friday 28th February 2022 during a visit to those parts of the country.

She assured the women of that part of the country of more collaborations, partnerships, and developments in 2022.

The First Lady urged members of the SLPP to focus on uniting the party and developing Sierra Leone as the focus should no longer be on internal politics, which is now a thing of the past after the internal party elections.

She pledged that her office, the party’s women’s wing, and the JMB women’s wing and associates would continue to work closely with the women to achieve the common goal.

She used the forum to remind the people of the south/east about the selfless support of His Excellency towards the children of this country through the free and quality education initiative.

“Parents no longer have to worry about paying fees for their children and wards,” she noted.

Mrs. Bio assured the women that she would be looking into the possibility of providing financial support to enhance the growth of their businesses.

She called on the women to continue to support the President’s plan for the benefit of all.

Welcoming the First Lady earlier, the Mayor of Kenema City, Thomas Baio, described the President’s wife as the nation’s mother while assuring that they will do all to keep the SLPP in control.

He saluted the First Lady and President for their selfless push towards developing the nation’s human capital.

The National Chairman of the SLPP, Dr. Price Harding said, described the visit of the First Lady as a clear manifestation of a seriousness she placed on women’s issues.

He pointed out that the First Lady deserves all the praises for her various roles in ensuring the party’s progress while describing her as a visionary and selfless woman.

In her statement, the National Women’s Leader, Madam Hawa Foray, described the First Lady as a shining example to all mothers while reminding the women of the significant roles they have in the party.

She reminded them that President Julius Maada Bio is the only President who has paid school fees for their children since independence.

The women’s leader assured the First Lady that the SLPP women were firmly behind her.
