APC KOITA, BAI MAHMOUD, ALONGSIDE THE FIRST BATCH OF 10 CONSPIRATORS, WILL BE FINALLY DOCKED FOR INVOLVEMENT IN A FAILED COUP ATTEMPT

Freetown – 2nd January 2024: Amadu Koita has been charged to court alongside 11 co-conspirators for being involved in the failed coup attempt on November 26th, 2023. Koita, in particular, is a social media rabble-rouser who takes pleasure in spreading misinformation about the Bio-led administration and could even gravitate to the extent of using invectives against the first gentleman and first lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
His venomous antics against the Bio-led administration are second only to Adebayor, who has declared an open war against the current administration by adopting trademark motherly tirades to discredit current government members, including President Bio. There are no shortages of work for African immigrants living overseas. Still, Koita seems to be uninterested in all except serving as an APC social media anchor, chartered to spread the party`s propaganda aimed at scoring cheap political points.
Koita sees nothing good in the Bio-led administration. For him, the free quality education, repeal of part 5 of the criminal libel law, and the Gender and Women`s Empower Act, to name but a few, are shambolic programs without any impact on the lives of Sierra Leoneans.
As Barrack Obama once said, “Hoping your president fails is an unpardonable act of unpatriotism.”
The statement mirrors people such as Koita, whose prayers and ultimate objective is to see the failure of Julius Maada Bio`s administration even though the APC he desires to see in power has already failed the people of Sierra Leone for 11 years.
In reality, Koita and his superlative Adebayor are puns in a political chess game used by political desperadoes such as Ernest Bai Koroma to seek their dubious and hideous agenda for a political comeback.
Just like Adebayor, his brother, in the same struggle, Koita`s social media tirade is replete with tribal incitements and regional hatred, which is a calculated agenda to destabilize the hard-earned peace of Sierra Leone.
Apart from his role in the November 26th, 2023 failed coup attempt in which he is charged to court, Koita is adept in prevaricating half-truths and presenting them as the whole truth.
Sadly, though, many gullible and unsuspecting viewers of his videos fall prey to his propaganda. This strategy of spinning and distorting the truth was adopted as a form of deception to incite the August 10, 2022, protesters, leading to the unnecessary loss of 32 lives, including civilians and police officers.
As if his social media ramblings were not enough, Koita flew from England at the behest of his APC paymasters to take part in the organization process of executing a coup d’é·tat. In Makeni, he was sited next to Ernest Bai Koroma in the former president`s post-election diagnosis, where he openly accused the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone of robbing them of their victory.
After dawning on the minds of the APC of losing the June 24th, 2023, the conspirators against the Bio-led administration settled for a coup machination. In the end, patriotic and dedicated servicemen, aided by divine intervention, played a decisive role in forestalling the coup d’é·tat.
Following the footsteps of Ernest Bai Koroma, who has been feigning health infirmities, another co-conspirator Bai Mahmoud Bangura, the former Minister of Youths, is currently admitted at the Kingtom police hospital reportedly for ill health.
Throughout the preliminary investigations of suspects, the Sierra Leone Police acted professionally by adopting a human face to allow suspects to seek medical attention and, at the same time, not lose sight of the interrogations.
The matter, which is presided over by Magistrate Santigie Bangura, has been adjourned to the 9th of January 2024. Koita, Bai Mahmoud, alongside the rest of the first batch of 10 conspirators, will be finally docked for involvement in a failed coup attempt.
